Breed: Golden Retriever
Age: 4 years old
Tell us a little about yourself, Hamilton!
Well, mom named me after the amazing founding father of our country Alexander Hamilton. I am originally from Lancaster, California. Mom and her friend drove 5 hours one way just to pick me up. I rewarded them by pooping in the travel crate on the way home. I am spoiled and generally get whatever I want. I like people and I like dogs pretty much equally. I am also a therapy dog and sometimes my momager takes me to places to help people smile. I also love Starbucks Puppucinos and love the patio at the Starbucks.
Who is your favorite human and why?
Probably my girl Melanie. I would say mom, but since she got my younger brother I am not so sure anymore. Melanie lets me love on her and give her kisses. She has shared her scones with me and lets me eat the wrappers on pupcakes too.
Can you do any special tricks?
I can deadweight my mom in the morning. That way she can’t leave for work and the only way to get me to move is to give me a Dentastix. She says that is probably my best trick. She hates that one though.
What item (toy, treat, blanket, etc) can you not live without at home?
Probably the crate that holds my brother while mom is at work. It gives me a much needed break from his crazy antics. Or the couch. Mom got us a new couch and it is mighty comfy… it may be a tie.
Any funny habits or stories that you can share with us?
Well, in addition to not wanting mom to go to work I tend to not want to leave Barx Parx. I have been known from time to time to refuse to leave. Sometimes I lay down in the lobby. Now that the weather is cooler, I sometimes lay outside on the walkway or parking lot. It usually takes some treats or Park Rangers to get me to move and get in the car.
What is your favorite part about Barx Parx?
The part where they have my ball. Then throw my ball. Then when I bring the ball back refuse to give it to them. Then they pet me and try to get me to give up the ball. Then I do and they throw it again. And we start the cycle all over again!
What days and times do you normally come to Barx Parx?
We like to come after mom gets home from work. So we tend to go late afternoons and late evenings. On the weekends we like to go at various times!!!!
What’s your life mantra?
Ball is life.
What are 3 words that best describe your personality?
Happy. Kind. Best boy ever.
